Travel with me to Barcelona
The trip traced back to 2014, my husband and I boarded a plane from Bristol airport to Barcelona.
Barcelona is a vibrant and colorful city, only a short flight from Bristol Airport, EasyJet safely took us to our destination within 2 hours. Since it was the first time for both me and my husband in Barcelona, we (or he) decided to be more adventurous to rent a stay on Air BnB, it was a humble studio apartment in a quiet yet central location to all the sights and cafes.
It is challenging to condense our fabulous trip in a few paragraphs, but what you must do in Barcelona is to book museum tickets online, fast track is definitely worth the extra euros.
One of the sights that you must see is Casa Batlló, it is one of Antoni Gaudi's masterpieces. This former built house was redesigned by Gaudi in 1904, every detail was beautifully crafted. The locals call the house Casa dels ossos - the house of bones, due to its visceral, skeletal organic appearance. Spare at least 2 hours for the tour.
Another Gaudi's masterpiece is The Sagrada Familia, the construction is still on-going today, I was beyond stunned by the marvellous architect, intricate craftsmanship and the strangely serene ambience.
We spread the sightseeing in a few days, in between we scheduled a lot of tapas and vino sampling. The best place for tapas is Boqueria, THE market for the freshest produce, best iberico ham, delicious seafood and a huge array of cheese, olives and spices! No, you don't need to buy ticket, just prepare some cash for a a sumptuous lunch. After all, it's time for a siesta!
