Weekend Indulgence - Where to go?
Girls dream about summer, bikinis, champagne and poolside indulgence, especially when it is sunny like last Saturday, the weather was perfect for outdoor R&R and pampering, and Conrad was the place I chose.
Their weekend spa & pool package is still active. Starting from 11am to 5pm, the package includes free flow fruit juice and light snacks, access to the health club facilities - gym and pool, a lesson of aqua aerobic at 11.30am, a 60-minute body massage of your choice and free-flow of champagne and cocktail from 4 to 5pm.
I arrived at the hotel at 11.30am, after confirming my 2.30pm massage and a quick change into my bikini, I went straight to the pool for vitamin D. They pool layout seems to have changed since the last time I went, now they have converted the far end of sundeck into poolside cafe tables. With a reduced number of sun loungers, I was lucky to have the one that was under the sun.
Happily sunbathed for two hours, it was time for stream room and massage. The massage room is located behind the gym reception. While the set up cannot compare to Four Seasons, it was comfortable enough, the only thing I wish they had done better is noise blocking, as I could clearly hear the occasional chatter at the gym reception during the treatment.
My masseur was a very nice lady named Monie, she was professional and seemed to think that my neck was very stiff (?!?) since she spent a good length of time pressing both sides of my neck. In fact, my entire body was stiff from weekly gym workouts and a 14-hour flight the previous weekend, I wonder if I could extend the massage by another hour next time... Aside from the small noise, the overall spa experience was pleasurable.
Massage finished at the perfect timing because 4pm is champagne o'clock! I went back to the pool with a post-masage glow, and caught the sundown with a glass of crisp champagne, I felt like a million-dollar babe! Thank you Conrad for a lovely Saturday afternoon, I will be back!
