Restaurant Review - DeDo's Restaurant (Phuket)
DeDos was established in 2008, it is one of the long standing restaurants with Siam Supper Club, Silk, etc. in Laguna Phuket. This year we returned to Phuket for another active/ gastronomic holiday, we booked DeDo's on Friday night hoping to catch Phuket's weekend vibes.
Overview - Ambience/ Service
Two weeks prior to arrival, I already notified the restaurant that I was on a gluten-free diet and the restaurant kindly agreed to accommodate my dietary requirement.
We arrived at the restaurant at 7pm and were the only patrons at the restaurant all night, the restaurant decor was neat enough, but not impressive. Staff was courteous enough, we were offered water and bread right away. However, she was clearly not aware of my gluten-free request, so I just kindly declined the bread.
Food & Drink
Food
Menu was a bit of a fusion Japanese and French, from sashimi, ceviche and French classic foie gras. This time, instead of foie gras, I started with Tartar duo - tuna and salmon in Asian & European style and opted for Flight and Tide - pan seared duck breast with tiger prawns as main course of the night, my husband ordered the same main course.
Tartar duo - raw tuna in Asian/ Japanese marinate and (cooked) salmon in tartar sauce, I was not impressed because salmon tartar should never be cooked. Main course was also disappointing, tiger prawns were slight overcooked and duck breast was a little tasteless, I had to season it with a few generous sprinkles of salt and olive oil.
Drink
They had a few by glass options such as Chablis, Rioja, Tempranillo, etc., price ranged from THB290-THB490, which is equivalent to HKD70-HK120/ glass.
Cost & Rating
Dinner for two with two drinks each cost about HKD1,000, it was expensive for the quality of food that was offered.
