Athleisure: How To Do It In Style
We active women love our gym tights and Nike shoes, like their new Air Max Thea Ultra FK. Instead of the old flare yoga pants we wore 10 years ago, athleisure has become one of the hottest fashion trends since Chip Wilson founded Lululemon - the tights that make our bottom look really perky!
The first and most essential key to look good in athleisure is to pick the right style of tights. If you are petite, wear cropped style that give you longer legs; women above 5'5 could wear 7/8 length which would accentuate their height. I am 5'6 and 7/8 length is definitely my best friend, I wear them to work, weight training, run errands, girls lunch and sometimes happy hour.
Should we go sheer? Yes, I like sheer or mesh panel tights and tops, but I reserve them at the gym or when I am training my clients. For everyday errands and to walk around town, I usually wear a pair black tights that pretty much work any look.
Gigi Hadid seems to have nailed the athleisure chic, The Fashion Spot has written an article about it a while ago. To look chic like her, we mix high-fashion with sports items, such as matching your tights with biker jacket, like the one on Diva J'adore femme, which gives an edgy look. How about pairing your Nike Air Max with beige camel coat and carry a statement bag to create a softer look? You style reflects your mood and personality, so be bold with mix and match.
My personal favourite picks are Diva J'adore biker, Nike Air Max Thea, Alo Yoga Tights, LV bucket bag, COS camel coat and Canada Couger snow boots. You can click on the photos for shopping and details.
